I’m Here is Here
I had the pleasure of catching Spike Jonze’s new short film I’m Here on the big screen at last week’s SXSW Film Festival. Now finally it is online for all to see.
This beautiful story of robot love also has an amazing soundtrack, I challenge you not to fall in love with Aska’s There Are Many of Us (ITunes) after watching the film.
In addition to the film itself, I find the interaction with the brand and the online roll-out of the film very interesting. Since Absolut commissioned the film you will have to verify that you are of drinking age to watch it, but there is no product placement in the film. And the online theater only “seats” 5,000 viewers a day. Definitely a different approach then just about every branded film project we’ve seen to date.
With his new short Spike has continued many of the offshoots that were so successful with Where the Wild Things Are… a book, a blog, collab with Opening Ceremony… I’m sure there a few more surprises to come.
Here’s the trailer to whet your appetite:

Hey! Great articles! I just found out about this site. Congratulations! Have you ever thought of bringing back Resfest? I loved the format and the style of the festival and it is very much needed since most short film festivals are now not very original and badly organized. Anyways, cheers and all the best!
