Join Florence Welch and filmmaker Vincent Haycock for the Los Angeles premiere of The Odyssey, presented by Flux, Park Pictures and The Theatre at Ace Hotel. The film, conceived by Florence Welch and Vincent Haycock for Florence + the Machine’s new album How Big How Blue How Beautiful and starring Welch, unites each of the visual film segments created for album—into a 48-minute film complete with new, connecting scenes.

The Odyssey charts the singer’s real and emotional rollercoaster in a succession of narrative-driven dance pieces, choreographed by either Ryan Heffington or Holly Blakey, and filmed in a series of evocative locations in Los Angeles, Mexico, London and the Scottish Highlands.

“This is the finale of a very personal project that came from a conversation me and Vince had in L.A. about a year and a half ago while I was writing How Big How Blue How Beautiful,” says Florence Welch. “I was talking to him about the record and the car crash of a relationship break up I was going through. The highs and the lows of love and performance, how out of control I felt, the purgatory of heartbreak, and how I was trying to change and trying to be free. And we decided we would re-tell this story in full. We would re-claim this experience, re-imagine it and in some way perhaps I would come to understand it, to exorcise it. And so the Big Blue Odyssey began…”

This special LA premiere will feature a Q&A with Florence Welch, director Vincent Haycock and choreographer Ryan Heffington moderated by AG Rojas. Plus an exclusive dance performance by Ryan Heffington and Friends.
